Traveling to Toruń from airports
There are several airports in Poland. Although the closest one is in Bydgoszcz, the most convenient connections to Toruń are from Gdańsk (GDN), where many buses (TranslineAir and ArrivaBus) run directly from the airport to Toruń.
However, the largest airport in Poland is Chopin Airport in Warsaw (WAW) and if you land there, you have two options:
- you can take a city bus (175) to WARSZAWA CENTRALNA railway station, from where trains and coaches will get you to Toruń, or
- you can go by train with one change [WARSZAWA LOTNISKO CHOPINA – WARSZAWA ZACHODNIA (change) – TORUŃ GŁÓWNY]. We recommend the latter option. You can also get to Warsaw City center by taxi (please, take a licensed one, e.g., MPT Radio Taxi +48 22 19191 – with a phone number written on a cab) and it should cost you around PLN 30.00–40.00.
There is another airport in Warsaw: Modlin (WMI), the destination of many budget airlines. From there you can take Flixbus, however, it runs only twice a day.
You can get from Bydgoszcz Szwederowo airport (BZG) to Toruń with a direct bus, however, it runs only once a day. Alternatively, it is possible to get to the city center from the airport using line 80, which goes directly to railway station.
If you land at the Ławica Airport in Poznań (POZ), you can get to the city center using line 159, which runs every 15 minutes directly to the railway station and the bus station adjacent to it.
Taxis in Toruń
If you decide to take a taxi (relatively cheap in Toruń), it’s better to phone for one (e.g., +48 56 191-92, 191-94, 191-95, etc.). There is also a taxi company for the disabled tel. 191-96.
