The thematic symposium of PSEPB „Sweet news of the last decade – the transport, metabolism and regulating role of sugars” took place on April 14, 2007, in Bialystok. Symposium was organized by Dr. Iwona Ciereszko, head of the Department of Plant Physiology in the Institute of Biology, University of Bialystok. The session, which was held in the new auditorium of the University Library named by Jerzy Giedroyć, was attended by about 40 participants.

Cytobiology Committee PAS, Department of General Genetics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Lodz, together with the Division of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lodz organized a scientific conference entitled: “Challenges of modern cell biology: molecular genetics, biology of systems, bioinformatics”. The conference was organized to honor the Jubilee of the eightieth anniversary of Professor Maria Olszewska.
